This unique project was envisioned by the client, a successful businessman, to be a space where his family and friends could stay whenever they were in town. He purchased this historic building in an industrial neighborhood and hired Narrative Design Studio to transform it into a luxurious and inviting interior.

The design team drew inspiration from the surrounding industrial area as well as materials commonly found in factories, such as chrome, steel, brass and bronze. The team developed a palette based on these metals, using them as accents throughout the building and paired them with neutral furnishings and finishes to create a sophisticated and timeless look. The client’s collection of vibrant artwork was also carefully considered and selected to enhance the mood of each space.

At its core, the building was designed with entertaining in mind. There are multiple bars, lounges, and communal areas where the owner’s guests can gather and socialize. The team created intimate niches where guests can enjoy both quiet time or conduct a private business meeting. In addition to the communal spaces, the building has several guestrooms with individual kitchenettes and bathrooms. The client wanted his friends and family to feel like they were staying in a boutique hotel where each individual room has its own identity.
